Why use Blood Chemistry and Full Blood Count Analysis? Urine Analysis can indicate how the body is functioning on a day to day basis. Urine should be clear, transparent, and not cloudy. Cloudy urine can indicate a kidney/urinary tract infection. In a healthy person urine is usually straw to amber in colour (except when taking B vitamins that will give urine a bright yellow colour). If urine is red or brown, the presence of blood should be suspected. Urine should be odourless. If urine has a fruity or acetone odour, diabetes, fasting or dehydration should be suspected. If necessary, a urine sample will be taken at the time of your appointment.
What is needed? A full health screen including Haematology, WBC Differential, Clinical Chemistry and Endocrinology can be obtained through your own GP and sent to me before your appointment for analysis. Alternatively, I will send you to The Doctors Laboratory in central London for these tests.
